Veterans and First Responders are the easiest backgrounds for us to verify, which creates a streamlined process. We require DD214’s, Certifications, and/or pay stubs. Survivors of Child Abuse and Gold Star Children requires a highly sensitive approach and an in-depth vetting process. At Leaps of Hope, we professionally seek out those two demographics so we can accurately verify their backgrounds and ensure they are treated as fairly as possible during the selection process.

There are a couple reasons why we need your height and weight. Firstly, in order to perform a tandem skydive you will have to be weighed in. There are weight limits for tandem skydives, or Technical Standard Orders (TSO). The TSO certifies the gear up to a certain weight limit. This is for your safety and the instructors safety. The most common maximum weight to perform a tandem skydive is: 250 lbs
For AFF, we need to match the correct equipment to your body size which requires knowing your height and weight. This is also for your safety and your instructors safety.
The answer: It Depends. People who have a range of conditions and disabilities have safely and legally performed either their tandem skydive or completed their AFF programs. Feel free to put in an application, be transparent about your disabilities/conditions and we can have a conversation if this is a good fit for you. Finally, consult with your medical health professional before taking part in our program.

You can fall at speeds in between 120 and 140 mph depending on the dropzone. If you jump at a dropzone that is higher than sea level, the air is thinner meaning you fall faster, meaning WAY more fun!
